Position Summary:
Blackstone Country Club is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Steward to support our culinary team by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in our kitchen and back-of-house areas. As a vital part of the Food & Beverage team, the Steward ensures a safe, sanitary environment that enhances the overall dining experience for our members and guests.
Blackstone Country Club is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Steward to support our culinary team by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in our kitchen and back-of-house areas. As a vital part of the Food & Beverage team, the Steward ensures a safe, sanitary environment that enhances the overall dining experience for our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing area, kitchen floors, trash receptacles, and storage areas
- Assist with basic food prep and set-up as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals
- Monitor dishwashing machines for proper chemical levels and water temperature
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries and supplies
- Support chefs and line cooks with cleaning duties during and after service
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to management promptly
- Work collaboratively with all departments to support smooth kitchen operations
Qualifications:
- Previous steward or kitchen utility experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
