The Payroll Analyst supports accurate payroll billing, tax processing, and compliance across a complex multi-entity environment. This role analyzes payroll data, assists with quarterly and annual tax filings, resolves tax notices and banking issues, and partners with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely, compliant payroll operations.

- Prepare payroll billings and supporting accounting documents in collaboration with accounting
- Research, analyze, and resolve payroll-related tax notices, inquiries, and discrepancies
- Partner with Payroll and Treasury to review and resolve payroll banking issues
- Analyze payroll data to support quarterly and annual payroll tax filings and reconciliations
- Ensure payroll tax withholding, reporting, and remittance remain fully compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Prepare and manage tax agency enrollments and account setups with the third-party tax vendor
- Review W-2’s and W-2C’s for accuracy and assist with year-end payroll activities
- Stay current on payroll legislation to maintain full compliance
- Establish and maintain state and local tax jurisdiction accounts for withholding and unemployment
- Serve as the payroll tax subject-matter expert for internal teams and external partners
- Review tax rates provided by the vendor and ensure accurate system updates
- Perform other related payroll tax duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- 3 years of recent payroll tax experience in a large multi-state/multi-entity company preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities required
- Strong understanding of multi-state and local payroll tax requirements
- Prior UKG experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required
- Ability to read and speak English to perform job duties effectively
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret numerical and financial data
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
