Key Responsibilities of the Group Fitness Instructor:
Associates degree (AA) in Physical education or related field, and six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Group Fitness Instructor:
- Guides members through training in the areas of flexibility, aerobic conditioning and strength.
- Instructs fitness and aerobic classes each week.
- Teachers proper stretching, strengthening and aerobic exercise.
- Insures proper, up to date and safe procedures are used in the teaching of all classes.
- Participating in continuing education.
- Inspects exercise equipment and areas for cleanliness and safety. Performs light custodial duties such as wiping down equipment after usage.
- Choreographs exercise sequence and aerobic routines for aerobic dance and exercise classes. Classes may be indoor, in controlled exercise settings, or indoor/outdoor aquatic settings.
- Monitors class in progress, providing constructive assistance.
- Enforces all rules and regulations in a polite and professional manner.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performances.
- Performs other duties as requested.
