What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Intern position at Troon?
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Finance team as an Intern. The Finance Intern will assist with the preparation of basic accounting transactions and reports. The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of GAAP accounting and be excited to learn and work in a dynamic team environment.
Program Details:
- 12-week program focused on various departments within our finance and accounting teams.
- The intern will complete a group project alongside fellow interns from other departments.
- This role is in person 5 days a week at our office in North Scottsdale.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with the preparation and entry of basic accounting transactions, including but not limited to fixed assets, lease accounting, daily revenue reporting
- Assist in the data collection associated with and the subsequent preparation of sales tax returns
- Preparation of basic balance sheet account reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting
- Assist with special projects supporting corporate accounting, financial planning and analysis, and tax as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
- A recent graduate or in the process of working towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Must have knowledge of GAAP, finance, and budgeting
- Auditing, Tax, or other Compliance related experience a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office skills required
