About The Role

This position assists in a wide range of specialized testing, experimental work and technical support activities in a research and development function. Performs a range of support activities to enable the smooth operation of the R&D environment.

  • Assist senior technicians and scientists with ongoing projects, plant trials, and technical support activities
  • Perform basic sample preparation, handling, and testing according to defined procedures and schedules
  • Accurately record data, observations, and test results in appropriate systems
  • Assist senior staff in summarizing results and preparing reports
  • Support instrument set up, calibration checks and inform senior leaders of any maintenance that may need to be performed
  • Follow all laboratory safety, quality, and environmental procedures including proper PPE use
  • Develop an understanding of systems, data integrity, and continuous improvement concepts

About You

  • High school diploma with completion of:
  • General chemistry lecture course
  • General chemistry laboratory course
  • Algebra II
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physical, or natural sciences
  • Working knowledge of a laboratory environment and ability to perform tasks in accordance with established safety procedures and guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and planning skills
  • Experience with basic spreadsheet and word processing software applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and the flexibility to take on a variety of duties
