Class A Commercial Driver
Location: Sutter Creek, California (Amador Facility)
Employment Status: Part-Time (1–2 Days Per Week) with Opportunity to Transition to Full-Time After Summer
Reports To: Operations Manager / Transportation Supervisor

Position Summary
The Class A Commercial Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of company products while maintaining the highest standards of customer service, safety, and regulatory compliance. This position will initially support operations one to two days per week during the summer season, with the expectation of transitioning into a full-time driving position based on operational needs.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and experienced operating manual transmission tractor-trailer combinations in a variety of driving conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer with a manual transmission.
Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Transport products to customers and company locations while adhering to delivery schedules.
Properly secure and protect all cargo to prevent damage during transport.
Complete all required DOT logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation accurately.
Follow all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), DOT, California, and company safety regulations.
Communicate professionally with dispatch, warehouse personnel, supervisors, and customers.
Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and general condition of assigned tractor and trailer.
Immediately report accidents, traffic violations, equipment issues, or safety concerns.
Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers and the public.
Support warehouse operations or other duties during slower periods as assigned.
Demonstrate flexibility to increase availability and transition into a full-time driving schedule following the summer season.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid California Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
Current Medical Examiner's Certificate.
Clean driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.
Minimum of 2 years of commercial tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
Experience operating manual transmission tractor-trailer combinations is required.
Ability to pass pre-employment background screening, drug screening, and DOT requirements.
Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
Excellent attendance and reliability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Safe operation of manual transmission tractor-trailers.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and vehicle inspections.
Ability to safely maneuver large commercial vehicles in urban, rural, and customer locations.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to adapt to changing routes and schedules.
Physical Requirements
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
Climb in and out of tractor and trailer multiple times daily.
Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
Sit for extended periods while driving.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Safely perform repetitive physical tasks associated with deliveries.
Work Schedule
Initial schedule: 1–2 days per week, based on operational needs.
Additional hours may become available during peak business periods.
