Functional description:
The “Specialist IT Infrastructure North America” is responsible for a stable operation of the IT infrastructure in North America (USA/Canada), and also supports the global infrastructure team. This role covers operational processes that require advanced skills and/or a broader knowledge of the overall IT infrastructure. Working on projects and recurring tasks on the one hand, this role covers the 2nd level support on the other hand and interacts closely with the service desk, to ensure that IT is available to the business as needed.

Main responsibilities:

IT/Digital Infrastructure Management & Cyber security:
- Ensure IT systems, networks, and hardware operate at perfect efficiency
- Maintain recurring tasks (like backup check, renewals, etc.)
- React to escalated incidents within the defined time frame
- Collaborate with the global IT team on high priority incidents
- Support and kind of coach the US service desk remotely and assist with complex cases.
- Suggest optimizations to reduce re-occurring incidents, or to improve availability to the IT Infrastructure Architects and implement solutions following a globally defined Change Process.
- Forward issues to the IT Security Officer or to the IT Infrastructure Architects in case these issues might affect or violate system security or standardization policies.
- Evaluate new solutions in coordination with the IT Infrastructure Architects.
- Actively monitor the IT systems to ensure service quality.

Vendor Management
- Manage relationship with external vendors and service providers.
- Chose vendors for specific products to handle procurement efficiently.
- Support on-site IT coordinators in handling IT procurement.

Project Management
- Lead or take part in infrastructure projects from planning to execution.
- Make sure that projects are finished within time and budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate new technologies and solutions into the existing infrastructure.
What we are seeking in the ideal candidate:
- experience of 5 to 7 years as an IT Administrator with 2 years of IT Service Management
- is or has been in a position of an IT administrator or has been working in the IT team of an industry or as an IT consultant.
- possesses very good communication skills and willingness to work with less experienced users.
- is able to analyze issues from multiple perspectives, e.g. client, back end, network
- good scripting skills (Powershell) or good knowledge of another programming language. Maybe has developed some tools or automations in previous jobs.
