What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Alarm TI Foreman position at TRL Systems, Inc.?
The Fire Alarm Tenant Improvement (TI) Foreman is responsible for leading field crews in the installation, modification, and commissioning of fire alarm systems within commercial tenant improvement projects. This role oversees daily field operations, ensures compliance with codes and project requirements, coordinates with general contractors and other trades, and delivers high-quality, timely installations. The TI Foreman serves as the on-site subject matter expert for fire alarm installation standards, NFPA codes, and company procedures.

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all California locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
Your main responsibilities are to:
- Oversee installation of all EST system components:
- EST3 / EST4 panels and subassemblies
- Networked fire alarm nodes and fiber loops
- Signature Series detection and notification devices
- Power supplies, NACs, and booster panels
- Perform device mapping, panel configuration, and system programming.
- Troubleshoot Signature device addressing, communication issues, SLC loops, and system faults.
- Oversee system testing, inspection, and commissioning according to EST manufacturer procedures.
- Ensure downloading, uploading, and updating EST system databases is performed correctly.
Schedule:
- 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).
- 5 years installing low voltage fire alarm systems in a commercial environment
- Fire/Life Safety MFG Systems certifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
- Punctuality and regular attendance
- Ability to drive for 2 hours in a work shift/day, daily.
- Ability to drive, walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
- Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, and multi-tenant properties.
- Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
- Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 50 pounds, daily
- Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
- Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally
