Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager will develop and lead projects for the growth and development of the North American Aerosol and Beverage (NA AAB) business.
Job Duties:
Leads BD projects that require Trivium investment
Leads BD projects to grow Trivium footprint into new segments
Build and maintain a deep understanding of the market, to identify new business opportunities which align with the company strategy
Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure new business deals.
Implements Trivium new segment growth strategy
Works with Trivium global strategy team to integrate NA AAB strategy into Trivium global strategy
Develops relationships with customer key decision makers, including C-level executives, capable of greenlighting new projects
Works closely with R&D / Innovation teams to help guide development work to enter new segments
Manages customer accounts as assigned
Reports into Director, Commercial regarding account activities with assigned NA AAB accounts
Provides plant / CSR support on BD projects / customers
Other duties / projects as assigned
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor degree preferred
10 years of business development experience coupled with experience in other functions preferred
Relevant background in packaging industry, preferably selling into food and beverages segment
Strong leadership and communication skills; excellent listening, oral and written communication abilities
Understands financial modeling and key drivers of ROI for capital investments
Demonstrated ability to acquire new customers and grow businesses
Proven track record in exceeding sales and profitability goals; seeks to have a positive impact on the business with a strong drive for results
Ability to develop and implement key strategic initiatives with sustainable, long term beneficial business impact
Expert in value-selling; working knowledge of business financials and accounting
Experienced negotiator; experience in contracts and agreements
Ability to travel 50% of the time including domestic locations
Owner mindset, self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and Excel
Work Environment:
This position will primarily work in an office environment where sitting for prolong periods of time and using a computer, telephone and other office electronics are critical. The position will also need to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
