Client Services:

  • Provide individual and group therapy according to treatment plans and in accordance with professional standards. 
  • Conduct initial evaluation and diagnosis, development of collaborative treatment plans, and oversight of clinical progress within the residential milieu while supporting achievement of goals
  • Provide crisis support to clients as needed and maintain awareness of risk management concerns in the provision of clinical and residential services
  • Establish and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with clients and when appropriate with their extended support networks
  • Create and maintain accurate clinical records and documents in a timely manner
  • Make treatment and social service referrals to appropriate agencies that support client goals particularly in the discharge process
  • Maintain current knowledge of assessment and treatment techniques through consultation and supervision
  • Review clinical history of referrals and make recommendations as a member of the Admissions Team; interact with referral sources including providers, family and clients

Supervision and Support:

  • Provide weekly supervision to all Clinical team members.
  • Oversee clinical evaluations, related clinical documentation, and therapeutic services provided by other members of the clinical team
  • Maintain compliance with State and Federal guidelines and audits.
  • Conduct regular audits of clinical records to ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with organizational and regulatory standards, and ensure all clinical documentation is completed and finalized accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Oversee and manage program caseloads, including monitoring capacity, assigning cases to clinical staff based on expertise and workload, and ensuring timely, appropriate service delivery.
  • Work closely with Director of Residential Services and Program Managers to coordinate the provision of clinical and residential services to clients
  • Provide clinical direction and oversight to residential care staff in relation to provision of client services in accordance with the treatment plan
  • Facilitate weekly clinical team meetings
  • Co-facilitate scheduled meetings with clinical team and each house's residential team
  • Foster strong collaboration and clear communication between residential and clinical teams, ensuring coordinated care, consistent treatment approaches, and effective information sharing across services.
  • Conduct clinical trainings as scheduled
  • Conduct hiring and evaluate job performance for members of the clinical team
  • Provide coaching and set goals for performance evaluations.
  • Direct crises support response for clients enacted by clinical team, Program Managers and direct care staff
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure quality services for clients and accountability for staff evaluation of the content of clinical practice to ensure that client needs are met
  • Develop and refine clinical outcome measures on an ongoing basis to track client progress and support evaluation of overall program performance.
  • Model the philosophy of client-centered and strengths-based provision of engagement with clients

Planning and Coordination:

  • Engage in clinical program development via outcomes monitoring and identification of creative solutions to administrative, personnel, and clinical challenges
  • Serve as a member of the leadership team to collaborate on the implementation, oversight and daily management of clinical and residential programming
  • Participate in the planning, coordination, and oversight of trainings to support skill development, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and promote consistent, high-quality care across services
  • Maintain a working relationship with external treatment providers and referral sources
  • Meet with leadership regularly to support clinical and residential program functioning
  • Abide by all Corporate Compliance policies and Code of Ethics
  • Other duties as assigned

While performing the responsibilities of the Director of Clinical Services job, the employee is required to talk and hear.  The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.  The employee is often required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and may kneel or crouch.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder or stairs to assist residents.

Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.  As applicable, work may require weekend, evening work, the ability to remain on-call and availability to provide staff support in event of emergencies.  Moderate travel may be required.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, social work, psychology or an equivalent human service field.
  • Independent licensure (LCMHC, LICSW, LMFT or equivalent) for a minimum of 3 years. Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice, as applicable.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in clinical and/or operational management in an interdisciplinary behavioral health setting.
