We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, maintaining financial records, and supporting overall financial operations. Responsibilities
- Process and verify all incoming vendor invoices using accounting software Entrata
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and perform analytical review of discrepancies and errors
- Prepare and record journal entries related to accounts payable activities
- Maintain accurate records of payments, vendor information, and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to resolve invoice discrepancies or issues
- Assist with month-end closing processes related to accounts payable and general ledger reconciliation
- Prepare and submit capital funding requests to lenders and investors
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts payable functions within a corporate accounting environment
- Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Knowledge of payroll management, and benefits administration is a plus
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency)
- Ability to analyze financial data and perform account reconciliations efficiently
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Real estate experience preferred
- Some college accounting/finance courses a plus
