The Senior Mechanical Engineer will directly support the Missile Defense Agency staff in the office of Ground Based Midcourse Defense, Next Generation Interceptor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analysis of structures, structural mechanics, failure modes and fatigue analysis
- Support planning for future missile defense capabilities and requirements
- Lead Technical Interchange Meetings across multiple technical disciplines
- Lead Working Groups during the absence of Civilian or Military Chairs
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science in a STEM related field.
- 12 years of related experience in Structural analysis as a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer is required.
- Demonstrated Experience in Aerospace Industry is required, including with Large projects, Missiles, Rockets, Spacecraft, or Aircraft.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills (demonstrated experience briefing CEO and/or General Officer/SES level).
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master of Science in a Stem related field is highly desired.
- MDA Experience is preferred.
- Experience with the development of documentation for Engineering and Program Reviews.is desired.
