Information Systems Manager (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Alameda County Environmental Health Department (On-site, 5 days a week)

Role Overview:
The Information Systems Manager will be responsible for overseeing the technical infrastructure, database management, and reporting tools for the Alameda County Environmental Health Department. This role requires strong experience in SQL, database management, and Crystal Reports to support environmental health systems and workflows. The ideal candidate will have a background in environmental health systems and experience working with Hedgerow and/or Envision Connect as a major plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of information systems, ensuring compliance with environmental health regulations.
- Database Management: Manage MS SQL Servers and ensure database integrity, security, and optimization.
- Reporting & Analysis: Develop, maintain, and enhance reports using Crystal Reports to support department needs.
- System Administration: Implement, install, and support licensed programs such as Hedgerow DBA and Envision Connect (preferred).
- Business Process Improvement: Analyze workflows, recommend system improvements, and ensure technology aligns with department goals.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Work with vendors and internal teams to evaluate and implement new software solutions.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure data security, compliance with regulations, and effective system access management.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in information systems management with a focus on environmental health systems.
- Strong expertise in SQL, database management, and Crystal Reports.
- Experience supporting and implementing software applications related to environmental health.
- Knowledge of environmental health regulations and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Environmental Health, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to work on-site (5 days a week) at Alameda County Environmental Health Department.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Hedgerow and/or Envision Connect.
- Public sector or environmental health industry experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
This is a contract-to-hire position, offering an opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and department needs.
Salary : $65 - $70
