FSQA Technician C Shift

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate must ensure that all knife tools are kept at optimum sharpness for performance. Will clean and maintain all sharpening tools and equipment. Will develop and maintain a service oriented approach to meeting operation requirements for safe and effective knife tools.

EDUCATION OR TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (LENGTH & TYPE): High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; 2 years in food processing facility in a knife sharpening capacity.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must have mechanical aptitude – capable of taking apart wizard knives and replacing hardware. Must be able to do maintenance on machines - belt replacement and adjustments on knife sharpening machines. Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents in the English language. Use of basic math. Ability to define problems, and identify effective solutions to knife maintenance. Must be able to demonstrate initiative, adaptability and be able to effectively communicate with production management & personnel.

REMARKS:

Applicants must have less than 4 points to be considered for the position. Hours are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Only Regular Full-Time employees who have successfully completed the probation period shall have the right to bid jobs under the provisions of Article 10 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb ladders and platforms, and enter confined spaces and wear all safety equipment. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds or more.

• Regularly exposed to cold/hot and/or humid conditions, climate extremes are found in all areas of the plant
