What are the responsibilities and job description for the Class A CDL Shag Driver - B Shift position at Triumph Foods, L.L.C?
SUMMARY:
The Class-A CDL Shag Driver will be responsible for moving tractors/trailers to the appropriate dock doors, parking, and securing trailers.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 18 TO WORK AT TRIUMPH FOODS. Triumph Foods only employs individuals who are 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18 your application will not be considered.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Must be able to start refrigerated trailer units.
- Pre-inspect the truck before driving.
- Will be required to fuel and wash trailers.
- Will receive trailers by radio call to be spotted at the dock doors.
- Will be required to open outside trailer doors prior to spotting to dock doors.
- Will connect & disconnect trailers.
- Drive to off-site lots to park trailers.
- Pull loaded trailers to the load line and re-spot the tractor.
- Travel to Lot B or Port Authority Lot to store & spot trailers.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
One year of driving experience under the class “A” license with a current CDL.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Class A CDL.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language, such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the lot. The employee is required to sit; use hands to finger; handle; or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; speak; hear, taste, and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb ladders and platforms. Must have the ability to connect & disconnect tractors/trailers and climb in and out of truck cabs repeatedly.
