Newbury Elementary School is seeking an ALPS Program Instructional Assistant to support students across various roles, including providing support in general education classrooms, special education inclusion settings, and one-on-one assignments.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate flexibility, collaboration, and a commitment to supporting the diverse needs of students.
Positions will include working with students with disabilities, students with complex medical needs, and providing general instructional support in PreK-6 classrooms.
Responsibilities may include:
Providing academic and behavioral support to students in inclusion and/or 1:1 settingsAssisting students with personal care needs, including toileting, mobility, hygiene, and feedingSupporting instruction using various curricula Collaborating with classroom teachers, special educators, therapists, and school nursesMonitoring and documenting student progress or health status, as applicableParticipating in team discussions when appropriateImplementing components of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and/or behavior plansSupporting smooth daily transitions and helping maintain a positive classroom environmentLifting and transferring students as needed (up to 35 lbs, depending on assignment)
