What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Hockey Coach (JV) position at Triton Regional High School?
Triton High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Varsity Field Hockey Coach to support and develop student-athletes within the field hockey program. The JV coach will work collaboratively with the varsity coaching staff to build skills, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and prepare athletes for advancement within the program.
The successful candidate will foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment that supports the mission and values of Triton Athletics and the Triton Regional School District.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coaching and Player Development
- Plan and conduct organized, effective, and developmentally appropriate practices
- Teach field hockey fundamentals, game strategies, conditioning, and teamwork
- Develop athletes’ technical skills, sportsmanship, confidence, and understanding of the game.
- Prepare athletes for interscholastic competition.
- Support the long-term development and progression of players within the Triton field hockey program
Program Support
- Work collaboratively with the varsity coaching staff to maintain program consistency and expectations
- Promote a positive team culture emphasizing accountability, respect, and effort
- Assist with supervision during practices, games, transportation, and team events
- Encourage academic achievement and positive citizenship among student-athletes
Communication and Organization
- Maintain professional communication with athletes, parents, administration, and staff
- Assist with scheduling, equipment management, uniforms, and program logistics as needed
- Monitor athlete eligibility and attendance requirements
- Attend athletic department meetings and required trainings
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with MIAA, Cape Ann League, district, and athletic department policies
- Promote safe training techniques and proper supervision at all times
- Complete all required district coaching certifications and background checks
Community Representation
- Represent Triton High School and Triton Athletics in a professional and positive manner
- Help foster school spirit and pride within the athletic community
- Support athletic department initiatives and program-wide goals
