What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Football Coach position at Triton Regional High School?
Triton High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Football Coach to support both our Junior Varsity and Varsity programs. This is an outstanding opportunity for a passionate football coach who is committed to the holistic development of student-athletes — on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the Head Coach to build a program culture rooted in discipline, character, and continuous growth.
Responsibilities :
• Design and implement individualized development plans focused on skill-building, athleticism, and football knowledge for players at both the JV and Varsity levels.
• Mentor student-athletes in areas of mental resilience, leadership, work ethic, and sportsmanship.
• Monitor academic progress of athletes and collaborate with school staff to provide support as needed.
• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that emphasizes accountability and personal responsibility.
• Assist the Head Coach in planning and running organized, high-quality practices that emphasize fundamentals and competitive development.
• Coach assigned position groups at both JV and Varsity levels with a focus on technical skill refinement.
• Evaluate player performance through film review and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
• Contribute to game planning, scouting reports, and in-game adjustments as directed by the Head Coach.
• Help maintain a safe practice environment in compliance with school, league, and state athletic association guidelines.
• Assist with equipment management, field setup, and logistical coordination for practices and games.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration in a professional manner.
• Support off-season conditioning, strength programs
Requirements:
• Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, offensive/defensive schemes, and player development principles.
• Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes from diverse backgrounds.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before season start).
• Must pass required background checks per Massachusetts DESE requirements.
