Role Description The Senior Estimator is a full-time, role based in Bremerton, WA, with some flexibility for working from home.
Pay Range DOE $130,000-$155,000. What You’ll Do
Personally own and execute the entire estimating process from start to finish.
Perform all quantity takeoffs, plan/spec reviews, and build complete estimates
Develop means and methods, sequence the work, and set crews/equipment based on your own analysis.
Price all self‑perform work directly rather than relying on others to build numbers.
Lead pricing and bid development by doing detailed work: scoping quotes, leveling bids, and validating assumptions.
Write and drive technical proposals hands‑on, including the execution plan and narrative.
Maintain and update production data and Red Book rates based on actual field performance.
Provide constructability input and coordinate directly with field teams to ground the estimate in real‑world conditions.
Manage clean handoff to project teams, including scope, assumptions, and risks.
Coach and mentor while still actively building estimates yourself.
Contribute to long-term strategic planning and market positioning.

What You Bring
10 years of estimating or project experience in heavy civil and/or marine construction.
Proficiency in HCSS / HeavyBid.
Strong expertise with HCSS and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and Bluebeam.
Demonstrated command of means and methods, production rates, crew and equipment costing.
Ability to break down construction operations, evaluate risks, and develop clear scopes.
Exceptional communication, organization, and technical writing skills.
A collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in high‑pressure deadlines.
Willingness to travel; travel is intermittent and tied to active pursuits and projects.
