What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Software Tester: Full Time position at TriTech Software?
Identify and document bugs and areas of improvement within TriTech’s external facing software and internal applications to ensure they meet quality standards and are in compliance with state tax requirements by performing the following duties:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Product Testing
- Basic understanding of all company software and key tax concepts
- Research and analyze software calculations to make sure tax returns are in compliance with State taxing requirements
- Maintain state specific documentation for tax laws, tax positions, and standards
- Report issues and enhancements that are understandable to improve our forms and products both in written and verbal form
- Test functionality and experience from a user’s perspective
- Execute both functional and non-functional testing as needed
- Acceptance Testing of features, changes and bug fixes to ensure delivered functionality meets expectations, requirements and design intent
- Regression testing to ensure that development of new features does not break existing functionality of software or introduce new bugs
- Document and maintain scenarios which encapsulate different test cases for re-use to ensure consistency in testing practices
- Assist in assessing and escalating issues and concerns with peers and to senior team members
- Design test cases, scenarios, or charters to verify functionality
- Understand and analyze user stories, requirements, or product specifications
- Understand high level concepts and use cases for manual and automated testing
Qualifications & Skills
- Education and/or Experience – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Analytical – Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data
- Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Works well in group problem solving situations
- Judgement – Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions

- Language Skills – Ability to speak and write in English fluently. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts – Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and the internet
- Ability to learn new software skills and tools associated with automated testing
- Multi-Task- Flexibility and adaptability in performing duties and meeting multiple deadlines effectively.
