We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the following opportunity

SENIOR CLAIMS COUNSEL, SPECIALTY INSURANCE

The Senior Claims Counsel, reporting directly to the Vice President, Claims Specialty Insurance, will be responsible for the management of claims within the Specialty Insurance department.

Responsibilities include:

• Coverage evaluation.
• Drafting coverage letters and other documents.
• Setting claim reserves.
• Communication with insureds, counsel, brokers and claimants.
• Litigation management.
• Negotiation of settlements.
• Authorizing payments as required.
• Acting as a resource for various business units.

Qualifications

• J.D. from a recognized university.
• 7+ years Financial Lines claims handling experience.
• Property & Casualty claims handling experience is an asset.
• Admitted to practice law in IL, additional state bar licensures is an asset.
• Adjusting license with a Home State designation of Florida or Texas, additional state adjusting licensures is an asset.

The salary range is expected to be $150,000 to $170,000 plus bonus within the terms of the company plan. Trisura offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401(k) with company match and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
