Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, youwillplay a role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.This roleisresponsible formeticulously cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and storing all reusable surgical instruments. Furthermore, youwill beinstrumental in providing all necessary instruments for surgery and other hospital departments. Your dedication and attention to detail are vital in delivering the highest standard of careandultimately makinganinvaluable contribution to our team.

What you will do in this role:

• Inspect, assemble, and testgeneral and specialty instrumentation for proper functioning.Identifytray type by contents of instrument tray.Identifymalfunctioning instruments and replaces orreportsinstruments that need repair or are missing.
• Operate andmaintainall sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, ultrasonic washers, and cart washers. Maintainaccurateand complete documentation of all washing, sterilization, daily machine testing, proper testing after machine repair, temperature, humidity, air pressure,early releaseof implants, and eye wash station testing.
• Prepare, assemble, and package all instruments for surgery and other hospital departments.
• Prepare surgical sets, instruments, and trays according to prescribed procedures, ensuring that all instrumentation is correct andaccurate.
• Pull customized case cart sheets for all surgical procedures and prepare case carts.
• Inventory, maintain, and supply OR storage areas, specialty lockers,cartsand equipment used.
• Audit trays for decontamination, washing, assembly, sterilization, implantusage, andinstrument count sheets and tracks loaner equipment.
• Create andmaintainaccuraterecordsregardinginventories, instrument set content, sterilized goods, biological test results, sterilization, and washing records for infection control practice.
  
  

What qualifications you will need: 

• Certification through IAHCSMM or CBSPDrequired 
• Prior related experience preferred
