Job Summary And Qualifications
This position involves performing critical clerical and secretarial duties to support imaging diagnostic services. The role requires a dedicated professional to manage patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards, coordinate workflow across imaging departments, and provide exceptional customer service. This individual works as a cohesive team player, ensuring efficient departmental operations and high-quality patient care coordination.
What You Will Do In This Role
- Perform secretarial duties including typing, faxing, and managing phone communications.
- Compile and release requested information, such as imaging studies and reports, in compliance with HIPAA and HIM best practices.
- Collaborate with all imaging departments to provide outstanding customer service and coordinate patient scheduling or rescheduling.
- Assist in patient insurance pre-certification and obtain outside radiological studies as needed.
- Input orders for outpatient imaging exams and reconcile the "Failed Fax Log" daily.
- Navigate Meditech, Fuji Synapse PACS, PACSCube, and other patient care electronic systems efficiently.
- Utilize productivity programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook for departmental tasks.
- Transport patients to and from the department when necessary.
- Maintain the ability to work PRN shifts as needed during Monday through Friday day shifts.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Medical experience is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of patients, healthcare professionals, and hospital leadership.
- Strong commitment to following HIPAA guidelines and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player within a hospital environment.
