Job Summary And Qualifications
The Central Sterile Supervisor promotes customer service initiatives; functions in all areas of department pertaining to the processing and sterilization or reusable instruments and supplies; understands principles and demonstrates knowledge of decontamination, assembling, packaging, sterilization and storage procedures; demonstrates knowledge of sterilizer testing and recording of results; is responsible for clinical and resource management of unit servicing between 4 and 10 procedural rooms; assumes responsibility for employee, physician and patient satisfaction; and assumes responsibility for standards of practice and quality of care.

Job Summary And Qualifications
The Central Sterile Supervisor promotes customer service initiatives; functions in all areas of department pertaining to the processing and sterilization or reusable instruments and supplies; understands principles and demonstrates knowledge of decontamination, assembling, packaging, sterilization and storage procedures; demonstrates knowledge of sterilizer testing and recording of results; is responsible for clinical and resource management of unit servicing between 4 and 10 procedural rooms; assumes responsibility for employee, physician and patient satisfaction; and assumes responsibility for standards of practice and quality of care.
What you will do in this role:
- Perform instrument decontamination according to manufacturer’s guidelines while separating and protecting instrumentation according to departmental guidelines.
- Understand operation of all washers, ultrasounds, sterilizers, and scanners utilized within the department and utilizes all equipment within recommended guidelines. Perform all parameter testing to include chemical and biological as directed.
- Assemble all instrumentation according to the count sheet and take responsibility for accuracy and cleanliness of all instruments.
- Package all instruments according to the manufacturer’s guidelines or departmental guidelines and understand which takes preference in each individual case.
- Promote customer service.
- Support the facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values.
- Coordinate daily work practices and flow.
- Attend and present at staff meetings.
- Recommend process changes.
- Maintain working knowledge of Sterile Processing Microsystems for tray accountability.
- Remain accountable for departmental supplies.
- Central Sterile Tech Certification (Certified Sterile Processing Tech or Certified Registered Central Service Tech) required.
- 3-5 years of related experience required.
- Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
