Job Summary And Qualifications

Under general direction, the Administrative Intern assumes line responsibility and authority to assist with the administrative direction, evaluation and coordination of the functions and activities of assigned departments within the hospital organization to ensure operating objectives and results are in accordance with overall hospital needs.

What you will do in this role:

• Successfully interact with all hospital departments, staff, patients, families, and visitors.
• Assist with disseminating pertinent information to clinical leaders following administrative directives.
• Promote complete involvement of department heads in the preparation for the department’s budget and educate them in the importance of the budget, forecasting, and planning process. Advis and makes recommendations to the Chief Operating Officer concerning budgeting, cost, and financial matters.
• Encourage and assist department heads in establishing a measure of performance, increased productivity, quality improvement, cost controls, and maximum utilization of facilities. Advise Chief Operating Officer where executive action is necessary to accomplish these goals.
• Plan the activities of individual departments in relation to other hospital departments so as to obtain a better understanding of each other’s problems.
• Attend medical staff meetings and/or medical staff committee meetings as assigned or requested. Inform the Chief Operating Officer of proceedings at meetings attended and recommend action, as necessary.
• Represent the hospital by membership in related processional associations.
• Monitor HCAPS scores and Core Measures. Ensure facility meets operational metrics.
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

• Current enrollment in Bachelor’s Degree program required.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
