Job Summary And Qualifications

The Director of Imaging Services effectively performs the leadership, managerial, environment of care/infection control, performance improvement, and departmental responsibilities.

What you will do in this role:

• Integrate the department’s services with the hospital’s primary functions
• Coordinate and integrate the services within Radiology, MRI/CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Specials, Cardiology and Respiratory Therapy with other departments.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
• Recommend a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care.
• Determine the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide patient care services and who are not licensed independent practitioners.
• Continuously assess and improve assigned area’s performance.
• Maintain appropriate quality control programs.
• Provide for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in the departments.
• Maintain responsibility for the department’s implementation of the hospital’s Emergency Management Plan.
• Implement Patient Safety Initiatives.
• Care for Neonate/Infant, Pediatrics, Adults, and Elderly patients.
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of Technical School in Radiological Program required.
• Current ARRT (R) & Kentucky Radiographer License required.
• Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 2 years of experience in a managerial capacity in a related field required.
