Job Summary And Qualifications
The sonographer primarily supports ultrasound services in the Women’s Hospital with occasional support to the Tower ultrasound department. This role involves performing a wide range of exams, including OB/GYN, high-risk OB, and general diagnostic ultrasound for adult patients. As part of a 24/7/365 department, this position requires a collaborative professional who can adapt to shifting coverage needs and on-call assignments to ensure exceptional patient care.

What you will do in this role:
- Perform ultrasound exams following established protocols in a timely manner while ensuring a high quality of care
- Utilize specialized imaging equipment including the GE Voluson E6, GE Logiq VS10, and GE Logiq S8
- Conduct various exams within the service line such as high-risk OB and general adult ultrasound
- Provide comprehensive patient history and clinical signs or symptoms to the radiologist and perinatologist
- Inform patients about procedures, answer questions, and communicate professionally with physicians and family members
- Coordinate patient flow and manage daily exam lists to ensure all procedures are completed accurately
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of probes according to specifications and maintain departmental work areas
- Support quality and performance improvement plans while adhering to ICARE values and customer service initiatives
- Participate in after-hour on-call rotations and holiday coverage as needed
- Maintain all required documentation and comply with quarterly targeted metrics such as Kronos, HealthStream, and PACS
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth, development, and assessment appropriate to the ages of patients served
- Graduate of an accredited RDMS program
- ARDMS registration in OB and Abdomen, or registry eligible with successful completion within 6 months of hire
- Current BLS certification
- One year of specialty experience in OB ultrasound preferred
- Vascular experience preferred
