Job Title: Material Expeditor

Location : Stratford, CT

Duration: 12 months contract to hire

Citizenship Requirement: US Citizenship required

Shift: 4/10 1st shift

Pay : $25.00/hr on W2!

Job Description

Performs manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment.

• Support asset management operations requiring detailed knowledge of procedures and practices associated with the receipt, handling, storage and allocation of incoming parts and materials for Sikorsky Aircraft, commercial and Government customers.
• Must be able to review, coordinate, correct and status planned Bills of Materials and Test Collectors in support of ongoing test development programs.
• Must be able to work independently to check items, receive and process records, expedite parts and material through operations as required to meet test milestones and schedules.
• Responsibilities include the preparation of documentation, movement of parts, interfacing with Production Control, ME, Purchasing and other Engineering customers, suppliers and vendors.
• Must be able to coordinate the processing of records and the input of data into specified databases.
• Must be able to maintain min max balances of lab common hardware and equipment.
• Must have proficiency in the use of personal computer, maintenance and use of databases.
• Experience and proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office and ASSETT SMART.
• Prior experience with expediting, communication with internal customers, suppliers and vendors.
• Must be able to effectively determine parts and material schedule deviations prior to deadlines and effectively expedite.
• Must be able to operate company vehicle and fork lift.
• Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to effectively determine parts and material schedule deviations prior to deadlines and effectively expedite; must be able to effectively communicate with a variety of people throughout the factory, laboratory and Engineering areas with minimum supervision.
• Requires flexibility to support overtime, extended and modified shift requirements.
