- Ensures rigorous compliance to safety procedures and OC corporate policies
- Focuses on sustaining a safe work environment for self, team, and area visitors
- Maintain current respirator fit program requirements, as needed
- Maintain Lab Excellence
- Work closely with Product Testing Leads to meet customer expectations for quality, turn-around time, communication of testing status, and achievement of overall lab outcomes
- Collaborate with Product Testing Leads and the rest of the team to provide relevant and timely testing data/updates
- Play an active role in supporting the business prioritization
- Maintain an organized workspace, including sorting material delivered on pallets
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including ensuring calibration and functionality of equipment
- Perform and record various physical and thermal testing of insulation products, such as compression, tensile strength, density, dimensions, and thermal conductivity
- Take ownership of testing completed, including data entry, training requirements, and method updates when required
- Check emails and calendar daily
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree preferred, but not required
- The capability to stand and manipulate (lift, bend, reach) lightweight (items for long periods of time)
- The ability to lift average to heavy-weight items (up to 50 lbs.) occasionally throughout the day
- Must be self-motivated and accountable
- Previous experience working in a R&D or quality laboratory preferred
- Demonstration of safe work practice
- Understanding of laboratory techniques
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
- Proficient communication and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization
- Creative mindset, willing to try new ways of doing things to improve efficiency and create value
- Experience with a laboratory information management system preferred
