My client is building out a high-impact infrastructure team responsible for scaling and modernizing enterprise environments across on-prem and hybrid cloud.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and manage VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) and/or Hyper-V
- Own SAN / storage architecture (Pure Storage, Dell EMC, Nimble)
- zoning, LUNs, replication, performance tuning
- Work hands-on in data center environments - hardware installs, upgrades, cabling, migrations, troubleshooting
- Support Windows Server Linux (RHEL) across physical virtual systems
- Build and maintain high-availability systems (clustering, failover, DR)
- Partner across networking, security, and DevOps teams
- Drive improvements in monitoring, automation, and capacity planning
🎯 What Actually Matters Here
- Strong hypervisor experience (VMware ESXi / vCenter / vSphere or Hyper-V)
- Deep SAN / storage experience (Pure, Dell EMC, Nimble preferred)
- Proven data center experience - not theoretical—hands-on with infrastructure, hardware, and environments
- Comfort working in hybrid environments (on-prem cloud)
- Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end (compute, storage, OS, networking)
➕ Nice to Have
- Exposure to Azure or AWS
- Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash, PowerCLI)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.)
- Background in CI/CD or DevOps environments
