The Credit and Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing credit processes, monitoring accounts receivable, and supporting overall accounting operations. This role ensures accurate credit analysis, timely collections, and compliance with applicable laws, while providing effective communication across departments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Management:
Perform credit analysis and establish credit limits for customers.
Update credit limits as needed and monitor periodic credit reviews.
Accounts Receivable & Payable:
Reconcile daily payments and ensure timely collection of receivables.
Prepare and review accounts payable aging reports; escalate overdue accounts to management.
Collections & Legal Coordination:
Communicate with attorneys, send demand letters, and file liens when necessary.
Cross-Department Communication:
Coordinate with the sales team to resolve account issues and maintain effective communication within the organization.
Accounting Support:
Provide Additional Assistance With Accounting Tasks As Required.
Qualifications:
Experience & Skills:
Ability to self-manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong credit management and analytical skills.
Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Knowledge:
Demonstrated understanding of credit-related laws; strong preference for familiarity with Texas Lien Rights Laws.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred but not required.
