Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Embedded Linux and system-level power optimization. This is a hands-on individual contributor role responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the software architecture that manages power consumption across an entire battery-powered device. The ideal candidate has successfully optimized battery life on embedded Linux or Android-based products such as smartphones, wearables, or other mobile devices and understands how every software layer—from the Linux kernel to user applications—affects overall power consumption. You will collaborate closely with kernel, platform, hardware, and application teams to maximize battery life while maintaining system performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Own system-level power optimization across the entire device, establishing power budgets and driving battery life improvements from the Linux kernel through the application layer.
- Design, implement, and optimize software architecture for power management in battery-powered embedded systems.
- Analyze workloads, profile power consumption, and identify opportunities to reduce energy usage while maintaining performance.
Skills
- Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams that include mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and product management.
- Ability to integrate ergonomics and human factors into complex hardware systems for data center environments.
- Strong visual communication skills for presenting design concepts and rationale.
- Familiarity with dense, thermally constrained hardware environments and their impact on industrial design decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to balance aesthetic goals with functional and reliability requirements.
