Banquet Server/Bartender

Job Summary

Duties

• Set up banquet areas with tableware, linens, and decorations to create an inviting environment for guests.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, including wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks, adhering to all beverage service standards.
• Take orders from guests using POS (Point of Sale) systems, process payments efficiently, and handle cash or credit transactions with accuracy.
• Ensure proper food handling and safety procedures are followed during service, including bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in work areas.
• Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, supporting the culinary team with basic food handling and presentation.
• Engage with guests to provide excellent guest relations, addressing inquiries or concerns promptly to enhance their experience.
• Support catering events by coordinating with kitchen staff and ensuring timely delivery of food and drinks to guests.

Skills

• Previous experience in the food industry or hospitality environment, especially in banquet or fine dining settings.
• Strong guest services skills with a focus on guest relations and customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of wine types, beverage service techniques, and basic mixology for bartending duties.
• Familiarity with POS systems for order processing and payment handling.
• Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during busy events.
• Excellent communication skills paired with a friendly, energetic demeanor.
• Understanding of food safety standards, proper food handling procedures, and basic math skills for accurate transactions.

The Event Venue consists of 350 seat Pavillion tent, plus a 180 seat Conservatory, perfect for corporate and wedding events, staying in the 180-room hotel upstairs! The event space is spectacular with The Ralph Lauren-inspired equestrian theme is seen throughout the space with classic patterns of plaid, stripes, and chinoiserie accents!

Skills/Requirements

· Maintain accurate knowledge of all menu items and beverage program

· Can interpret guests’ desires and bring them to life in liquid form

· Prior experience in a food-serving establishment loved!

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Highly developed interpersonal skills

· Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems

· High level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods

Salary/Benefits

· 2 years of experience would be great, but we can train as long as you are willing and flexible.
