Job Summary:
New-Indy Packaging is seeking a candidate for a summer 2026 internship as a Design Intern at the Cerritos, CA packaging location. The candidate will receive experience in the design process of corrugated boxes.
Schedule is flexible, but candidate must be available minimum 20 hours per week from June – August 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify different board flutes
- Identify different box styles
- Designing different box styles
- Work with Artios CAD and Artios 3D
- Work with Photoshop
- Work with Illustrator
- Work with TOPPS Pallet Configuration Program
- Upload CAD drawings to Base
- Operate the Kongsberg Cutting Table
- Operate HP R2000 Latex Printer
- Maintain the mezzanine and work area clean and organized
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and follow instructions on production work orders
- Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
- Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation, product layouts and production specifications, product quality specifications, quality standards
Education & Experience:
- Currently enrolled in Design program or a related field, and/or certification in CAD/Drafting
- Experience or desire to be in corrugated/packaging highly preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, talk, and hear regularly.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly required to sit
Occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50lbs
Salary : $20 - $24
