Position Summary
Knowledge of functions in Surgical Services, i.e.: Sterilization process, sterile field boundaries, supplies, equipment and instruments. The Environmental Surgery Technician will be responsible for transporting patients, cleaning OR suites, assisting with surgical instrument cleaning, putting supplies away, stocking OR suites, handling specimens and blood products and departmental cleaning of OR, PACU, Pre-op and surrounding contained areas. The EVT will work in coordination with other team members and take direction from management and other staff members.
Reports to: Supervisor - Nursing Unit FLSA: Non-exempt Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent - Required; Two years of college - Preferred
License/Certifications: BLS
