Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Dispatcher role based in Pantego, NC. The Dispatcher will coordinate daily routes and schedules for drivers, assign vehicles and equipment, and ensure timely pickup and delivery of waste and recycling materials. Responsibilities include monitoring driver locations, responding to schedule changes, communicating with drivers and customers, and updating dispatch logs and transportation management systems. The role involves resolving service issues, tracking job status, and collaborating with operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime. The Dispatcher will also help maintain compliance with safety policies, regulatory requirements, and company operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and clients.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple routes, prioritize urgent requests, and manage shifting schedules.
- Proficiency with dispatch or routing software, GPS tracking tools, and basic computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, data entry).
- Knowledge of transportation or logistics operations; experience in waste management, recycling, or trucking environment is preferred.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to address route conflicts, equipment availability, and service interruptions.
