About the job In this role the sonographer, under the general supervision of an attending radiologist, and in accordance with department protocols, the ultra-sonographer utilizes high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data which is used by physicians in rendering a medical diagnosis resulting in quality patient care. Here's what you'll need Required: Associate Degree; graduate from an accredited two-year Ultrasound Program, required; OR equivalent training acquired via work experience Specific Degree(s): AMA approved Sonography program; Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved school of Ultrasound Technology Less than one year of previous job-related experience New Graduates- 9-month ultrasound coursework experience including clinical rotation Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization Licensure/Certifications Required: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association ONLY Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)-Specialization in Abdomen, Ob/Gyn or PS Other: New Graduate obtain certification within 3 months of hire Why Loyola Medicine?
