Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift Description: Full Time Nights, every 3rd weekend Our Labor and Delivery unit is designed to provide comprehensive, family‑centered maternity care in a safe, welcoming, and highly coordinated environment. The unit features 5 dedicated labor and delivery rooms that support personalized, attentive care throughout the birthing experience. Following delivery, patients transition to one of our 14 comfortable postpartum and antepartum rooms, creating a calm and supportive setting for recovery and bonding. An integrated obstetric operating suite is located within the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring rapid access for cesarean births and urgent interventions while keeping mothers and babies close to the care teams they know. JOB SUMMARY This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards. Birth Center and Pediatrics are considered "sister" units and staff float are expected to float between these units. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred Previous experience in obstetric care and / or acute care preferred. Special Skills and Competencies: Required successful certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring via National Certification Center (NCC) within 1 year of starting orientation to the Labor and Delivery area and maintains certification. Preferred professional certification in related to clinical specialty (from the Magnet approved certifications) Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs. Self-motivated, detail oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.
