Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: GENERAL SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to direct all aspects of the Registrar’s Office including student registration and records, class schedules, instructional space assignments, and eligibility for graduation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plans and oversees the activities of the Registrar’s office including student registration, schedule changes and withdrawal, developing the academic calendar and class schedules. Maintains the official records of all students, current and past, in accordance with the guidelines of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. Hires, trains, manages and develops staff to ensure performance. Provides regular feedback, including annual performance evaluations. Responsible for final transfer credit approval and maintaining degree audits within the Student Information System. Partners with the admissions team and academic advisors to keep students apprised of transfer credit and degree requirements. Certifies graduation eligibility and ensures all degree requirements have been met. Oversees the release of information, including requests for transcripts, and maintains confidentiality in accordance with Mercy College policy. Serves as School Certifying Official (SCO) for Veterans Administration. Verifies student enrollment data for reporting, including financial aid and employer verifications. Develops and monitors the annual budget for the office. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in education or related field. Three years’ experience in a college registrar's office. Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communicative skills. Knowledgeable about governmental regulations pertaining to student records. Master’s degree preferred. Experience with Colleague or similar systems preferred. Experience with transfer credit policy preferred.
