Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: The Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and families, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance. This role plays a critical part in supporting patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and timely reimbursement. Key Responsibilities Provide patient‑focused customer service to patients, families, physicians, and clinical staff Perform inpatient and/or outpatient registration, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, pre‑certifications, and authorizations Explain financial responsibility, including copays, deductibles, and self‑pay estimates, in a clear and compassionate manner Collect patient payments at time of service in accordance with organizational policies Ensure compliance with Medicare medical necessity guidelines and payer-specific requirements Maintain accuracy and confidentiality while documenting information in registration systems Respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to patient access and financial clearance Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in healthcare registration, patient access, or medical front office preferred Knowledge of insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills Attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health record systems preferred Work Environment This position may work in inpatient, outpatient, emergency, or procedural settings and requires flexibility to meet patient care and operational needs.
