The Nampa Orthopedics and Sports Medicine clinic is looking for a motivated and organized Medical Assistant! Position Summary & Highlights: You will be a part of the Nampa Orthopedics team supporting multiple providers and surgeons and working alongside with MAs, RNs, and Athletic Trainers. Please make sure you meet the minimum requirements below before applying. CNA certification does not count towards MA certification. MA experience or schooling is required. Our clinics offer patients both surgical and non-surgical treatment options for their problems. Patients can feel confident they are in capable hands with board-certified Orthopedic Surgeons whose highest priority is excellence in patient care. What You Will Do: In addition to the typical MA duties, you will draw up injections for minor procedures, complete chart prep, DME application, suture removals, casting, and splinting. You will also assist with surgery scheduling, prior authorizations, in-basket tasks, regulatory items, and MRI authorizations. An ideal candidate will have an interest in orthopedics, have related experience working in a surgical practice, is organized, multi-tasker, and is a flexible team player willing to jump in on whatever is needed to be done. Work Schedule: 40 hours/week, 5 - 8 hour shifts, Mondays – Fridays, hours varying around 7:30am - 5:30pm. Shift start and end time can vary based on providers' schedules and staffing needs. MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Healthcare Association (CCMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) American Medical Certification Association (CMAC) National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA) New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification. Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire. *Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year.
