Employment Type: Part time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: CLINICAL COORDINATOR PRN SUMMARY: Functions as the coordinator of patient flow and throughput. Highest ranking administrative authority working under the guidance of the AOC (Administrator on Call) responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling activities for the clinical services. Supports the management and clinical activities in all areas of the hospital. REQUIREMENTS: A current RN license is required prior to Hire IDAHO ONLY: Colleagues establishing residency while using Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire. All colleagues must provide licensure or proof of application in process for an Oregon RN license within 90 days of the hire date. Bachelor’s degree in nursing and two years of acute care experience is required. An additional three years of experience in acute hospital setting plus one year of supervisory experience (Charge Nurse, Unit Supervisor and/ or related experience in Critical Care or Rapid Response) may substitute for the degree. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable). Accepts/declines patients requesting to come from outlying areas/facilities, physician offices, other hospitals. Triages patients within the SARMC and other SAHS hospitals based on capability and capacity at each facility. Ensures compliance in relation to all EMTALA regulations. Effectively communicates with administration, physicians, departments and staff. Identifies and provides initial intervention on hospital-wide issues that affect overall operations. Acts as a member of the Code Blue & Rapid Response Teams, responding to and providing oversight (assessing and allocating resources) to clinical emergencies including leveled traumas, codes and MRTs. Acts as the lead authority and coordinates on-call emergency and disaster resources as needed within SARMC. Provides oversight and supervision of Clinical Support Team & Patient Safety Attendants and Medical Access Center staff. Communicates and provides intervention with staff, patients, families, media, law enforcement and other community agencies as needed. Authorizes the release of deceased patients to Coroner’s Office or designated funeral home. Manages the process of addressing impaired employees or physicians. Coordinates the donation of organs with transplant banks and tissue services. Acts as a member of the Chemical Response team. Collaborates with Coroner on managing autopsy services for the deceased coming from outside the organization. Provides administrative report of important occurrences.
