Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and professional Patient Scheduling Coordinator to join our psychiatric practice. In this vital front-office role, you will be the first point of contact for patients navigating mental health care. You will play a key role in ensuring patients feel welcomed, supported, and cared for from the moment they reach out.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Communication: Deliver exceptional customer service by professionally handling inbound phone calls and in-person inquiries, including appointment scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations, and addressing patient concerns with empathy and clarity.
- Appointment Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date schedules in the EHR system while coordinating follow-up care and ensuring smooth patient flow.
- Patient Records & Registration: Accurately collect, input, and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and clinical documentation while strictly adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
- Administrative Support: Provide general clerical support, including scanning, faxing, filing, and assisting the clinical team as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and clinical staff to support efficient operations and positive patient experiences.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional during emotionally complex interactions
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to multitask in a busy environment
- High level of professionalism and commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, ideally in behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Experience verifying insurance benefits and handling prior authorizations

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
