Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, weeding, and mulching to keep outdoor areas pristine and healthy
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, excavators, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and effectively
- Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and pests to ensure proper care and pest management practices are followed
- Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering schedules and water conservation
- Execute hardscape projects including the installation of pathways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures
- Conduct seasonal tasks such as snow plowing and tree trimming to prepare landscapes for different weather conditions
- Follow all safety protocols diligently while handling tools and equipment to prevent accidents and injuries
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment operation
- Extensive experience with landscape maintenance techniques including mowing, gardening, pruning, and planting
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and heavy machinery such as excavators
- Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture principles, pesticide management, and tree care practices
- Ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions with a focus on safety protocol adherence
- Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape installation is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong physical endurance for demanding outdoor tasks
