What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Surgical Scrub Technician position at Trinity Surgery Center?
A. Assisting the physician during all procedures as needed, the surgical technician must maintain and be able to:
I. Have a working knowledge of equipment maintenance and care.
II. Assist in the performance of surgeries, to include biopsy.
III. Label specimens correctly.
IV. Help review surgeon’s preference card and keep them current.
B. Work in Central Processing, washing and sterilizing instrumentation.
C. Assess surgery schedule at least two days in advance to verify all needed items for scheduled procedures are present. Notifies administrator immediately of any issues.
D. Prepare room, anticipate and check all equipment needs prior to procedure.
E. Treat family and patients with respect and dignity.
F. Carry out medical and procedural aseptic techniques and universal precautions.
