What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Apprentice position at Trinity Solar?
As a Solar Electrical Apprentice, you'll work under the supervision of licensed electricians and experienced solar professionals to assist in the installation, wiring, and maintenance of residential solar energy systems. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with the installation of electrical equipment, wiring, and devices for residential solar PV systems.
- Learn to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation blueprints.
- Support the installation team in mounting solar panels, running conduit, and performing system terminations.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with local and national electrical codes (NEC).
- Use hand and power tools effectively and maintain them in proper working condition.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of electrical systems under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site at all times.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn and grow.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of experience in electrical work, construction, or solar installation preferred (training provided for the right candidate).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools.
- Ability to work safely on roofs and ladders for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in various outdoor conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
