POSITION SUMMARY
This position is an entry level, temporary/seasonal position. The position will primarily assist and work in a variety of situations, projects and assignments. Tasks and functions normally assigned to this level are generally routine in nature and any deviations or decisions from routine are generally assisted or approved by upper level staff.

NOTE: This position is intended for seasonal part-time employees. Employee benefits for vacation, sick leave, pension, hospitalization, life insurance, and other benefits provided to permanent employees of the Authority are not provided to employees hired for this position. It is stipulated that the seasonal part-time status should not extend longer than three to nine (3-9) months.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS:
- Participate in regular communications with TRA management. Assist with drafting correspondence and reports with necessary back-up material for review/approval.
- Participate in project team meetings and discussions on budget instructions and planning.
- May assist with reviewing budgets, assist with flow charts and instructions for budget process.
- Responsible for basic word processing, proofreading and distribution of reports and correspondence for the managers, while maintaining confidentiality.
- May assist with manager's calls, messages and schedule as well as providing reminders for commitments.
- Schedule meetings, reserve rooms and may attend and record minutes of meetings as required.
- May be assigned other administrative support duties for the department as needed.
OUTREACH/EDUCATION POSITIONS:
- Organize, promote, and conduct outreach activities which may include public speaking.
- Assist with and/or perform website and social media updates.
- Conduct public awareness campaigns which may require research.
- Initiate community collaboration and community education programs.
- Attend community fairs and other community events, i.e., Earth Day events.
- Assist with development of materials for public awareness campaigns, community education programs, community events and other communication initiatives as needed.
RECORDS MANAGEMENT POSITION:
- Develop knowledge of Authority Document Management System to assist with the review and proper disposal of applicable documents and files.
- Recalculate or proofread information to confirm accuracy.
- Prepare, create, or enter information into spreadsheets and databases.
- Communicate data distribution.
- Responsible for telephone calls and messages upon request.
- Research and other duties, as assigned.
WORK LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not regularly provide work leadership or full personnel management to any employees.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Two or more years of college courses in the area required by the position.
EXPERIENCE
Coursework in the area required by the positions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Texas driver's license.
KNOWLEDGE
Basic knowledge in area required by the position. Knowledge of basic mathematical calculations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have good attention to detail. The ability to prepare graphs, charts, exhibits, and understand spreadsheets, budgets and prioritization tools may be required. Must be able to evaluate situations and analyze problems to make decisions necessary for corrective measures with some direction, and follow standard operation procedures.
GUIDANCE RECEIVED
Receives ongoing detailed supervision and standard procedures. Follows standard procedures and/or detailed instructions for each task or assignment; any situation that calls for something different is referred to a supervisor or more senior position.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Administrative internships are almost always carried out in an office environment. Some field work may be required.
