Trinity Ridge in Hickory, North Carolina, is hiring for Full-Time Medication Aide roles on both first and second shifts. This in-person position involves supporting residents and maintaining established standards of care.

Medication Aides are responsible for administering prescribed medications under the supervision of the attending physician, nurse supervisor, charge nurse, and Director of Nursing Services, following North Carolina state regulations and facility policies.

• Starting pay will be addressed during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications according to the six rights of medication administration.
• Maintain documentation in the electronic MAR system per facility procedures for refused, held, or self-administered medications.
• Notify nursing staff promptly of any medication errors or near-misses.
• Verify accurate labeling of medications.
• Demonstrate understanding of medical abbreviations, symbols, and terminology relevant to the role.
• Participate in required education related to medication administration.

Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Position Overview

Medication Aides administer prescribed medications to residents under established guidelines, state regulations, and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Certification: NC Board of Nursing-approved Medication Aide certification; candidates must be listed on both the NAI (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide registries in North Carolina.
• Skills: Competency validation supervised by a registered nurse employed by LSC.

Work Environment

• Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
• The role requires extended periods of standing and walking, with occasional bending, squatting, or reaching.
• Ability to help reposition and transfer individuals in accordance with safety protocols.
