As a CNC Operator, you'll operate advanced CNC machinery to cut steel plates according to detailed specifications. You’ll determine cutting sequences, select tooling, and ensure every part meets our high standards for quality, accuracy, and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Select and design appropriate cutting tools as needed for each job.
- Run and test CNC programs to ensure operations meet print specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and cut sheets to ensure accurate material cutting.
- Set-up machine parameters and CNC program details to match assigned work orders.
- Maintain high standards of quality control and visual inspection during and after cutting.
- Keep your work area organized and clean, contributing to a safe, productive workspace.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by your supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–3 years of experience operating CNC machinery, with Oxy, Plasma or Laser experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
- Excellent attention to detail—you take pride in precision.
- Ability to read tape measurements down to 1/16th - high importance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, safety rules, and production schedules.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new or changing variables.
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods, and regularly lifting 25–50 lbs.
- Capable of kneeling, bending, and operating hand and power tools throughout the shift.
- A strong team player who communicates clearly and works well across departments.
- Previous experience in heavy industry or structural steel fabrication is a plus.
