Role Description
This is an on call, on-site role based in Santa Barbara, CA, for a Substitute Teacher. The Substitute Teacher will provide essential support during staff absences, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment for young children. Responsibilities include supervising and guiding classroom activities, implementing lesson plans, fostering children's development through educational and creative activities, and maintaining effective communication with staff and families. Additionally, the Substitute Teacher is expected to uphold the values of the school.
Qualifications
- Strong teaching and facilitation skills, with the ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to classroom needs
- Experience in child development and an understanding of age-appropriate learning techniques
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with staff and communicate with families
- Ability to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for students
- Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with young children
- A degree or certificate in early childhood education or a related field is preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
- Prior experience in a preschool or early education setting
$25/hour with 24 ECE units and at least one full school year of preschool teaching in a licensed school
